                                      healthy harbours porirua #2

Today (1/11/16) we went down to bothamley park because we were looking at kenepuru stream which is our nearest stream in Ascot park.

we were split up in  two groups I was in group one. My group first went to look at the streams health it was really fun. the clarity of the water was different to most people but the main numbers people got were around 30.the conductivity was 440.the water was really slow it took 6 minutes for the ping pong ball to go down 10 meters. The water was overall was bad so that makes me think that we should really need to look after the water.

Healthy harbours is a program that teaches kids all about the local harbour; te awarua o porirua. We were focusing on catchments and learnt the catchment solute. We also learnt a game called tuna run. Later on in the program were going to go snorkeling which will be exciting. I can’t wait for our next session!!!!!

BANG It is a cold september night the time is 11:25 PM and i'm admitting it i’m pretty scared I’ve never been out alone this late. The street lights flicker making every blowing tree look like horrible dark monsters as I unknowingly walk down leechers street(a pretty dodgy street)but I did not know that . Then I heard heavy footsteps behind me so I don’t know why but i just suddenly broke into a run,but the footsteps speed up too!!! No way i thought as i started sprinting, my heart beating so fast i would not be surprised if it leaped out.I quickly looked back to see a huge man wearing jeans and a biker jacket he yelled stop i'm will not going to hurt you, yeah right I think BANG!! ……….. I then fell To be continued

 REAL RIO

The foul stench was becoming stronger as I paddled out further .  It was becoming impossible to block out it was as if the horrid stench had seen me and rushed to my nostrils  . This was WAY worse then I had thought.  All I could see was rubbish in dirty green sludgy water.  I could hear the small waves banging together, bits of trash making a faint clinging noise... it was then that I felt sad, mad, disappointed and disgusted for I had always thought Rio de Janeiro was an amazingly beautiful clean place.

But I was wrong and now the world would see this paradox.  That the beautiful pictures from the internet did not match what the reality is.  I took a selfie revealing the trash and all the pollution for the entire  world to see....

Olympic Rings

What The Olympic Rings mean

Well they represent the 5 inhabited continents of the world. The five colours appear in the flags of the world. So in my opinion its like linking all the countrys and people to one thing-SPORT,bringing together different  people to celebrate sport,a symbol to show that we are together/linked in sport.

I think it was Coubertin who created them because he designed them i'm not sure when, but he explained the design in 1931
